Cloth; textile, material, stuff.
Soul; essence, character, heart.
The story so far...
I draw, I paint, I print, I sew, and make things from fabric, clay and wire.
The creative journey began when I discovered a box of old family photographs,
which instantly got me inventing stories and imagined lives of the past.
From then on my love for collecting found/old objects has grown, usually it is the items with little monetary value that catch my eye, often seeming to be rich in character and sentimental value.
The underlying themes throughout my work are imaginary places, Fairy tales and forgotten times. My inspiration comes from many places such as period costume, love letters, music, childhood, old lace and buttons...
Finally I am continually creating a collection of work that reflects the items I find and collect, along with the quirks, qualities and eccentricities I put into my illustration.
